Christy Burnett - Office Manager / Legal Assistant
Born in Morehead City and raised in Newport, North Carolina, I graduated from West Carteret High School. After living in Chatsworth, Georgia, from 1993 to 1997, I returned to the area in 2003, where I’ve been rooted ever since.
My professional background spans the carpet and restaurant industries, where I held various roles from 1993 to 2011. That year, I joined Burnett Law, where I currently serve as both Office Manager and Legal Assistant. In this role, I assist in preparing legal documents, manage scheduling for mediations and court appearances, and handle communications with clients and opposing attorneys, many of whom are involved in breach of contract litigation or property tax dispute cases.
Outside of work, I’m proud to be a mother to three biological children and four bonus children, including two nieces. I’m also a grandmother and honored to be the adopted daughter of Nancy Burnett.

I also have significant experience handling bankruptcy proceedings and disputes, including those involving contract disputes and breach of contract cases.
Educated in the United States, Kenya, and Germany, I bring a global perspective and a deep understanding of international legal systems. I’ve successfully advised clients and resolved legal matters across the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and beyond, including complex issues such as property line disputes and referrals for the best lawyer for property disputes.
